'Arc' fav ORFEVRE advised on 26th June

For regular readers of the blog, it will come as no surprise that I advised an antepost wager on ORFEVRE way back on 26th June when the odds on the horse for the race were 7/1. My antepost selections are few and far between as I only make an advice when I think there is real value to be had. Now, after a sparkling trial for the big race this Sunday,  ORFEVRE is the 5/2 fav.

The jumps season moves out of 1st gear this week and meetings are becoming more regular. At Newton Abbot today, there is a runner from my alert list, SPORTING BOY in the 4:20. He went on my list after a good win over hurdles last November and then had the winter off, returning to the track in March.  He probably spent too long in the field as he looked unfit on his return then went chasing for the summer.  He's not looked an enthusiastic chaser and so could be interesting returning to hurdles today. At odds of 13/2 (Bet Victor and Corals) he's worth a small (half point) each way wager.   This season I'm wagering to £20 a point till 31st October,  so I'm having £10 each way at 13/2. My starting bank is £2,000.
