The Horse Alert List ended with the Grand National on 9th April 2011.
Result Summary
Overall, down 18.125pts with 10 wins from 63 runs by the Alert List horses.
As there were only 2 placed from the 63 runners, a straight 2pt win bet (no eachway wager) would now be showing a loss of ONLY 4.25pts.
OK, its not in profit, but what a comeback from the low-point on 1st February when - after just 2 winners from 35 runs - the "List" found 8 winners from 28 runners.
There are (as always) lessons to be learned. Some of the horses on the list (FREE WORLD and PICKAMUS) came into the season on too high a handicap mark to have any sort of winning chance in the season. Some (PLEIN POUVIOUR) needed their perfect conditions in order to win, and when not getting them didn't show any sort of form at all.
The Alert List may be over, but do not ignore it!
RAPID INCREASE looks well-up to a following-up his recent win.
GENTLE RANGER ran a cracker in the Midlands National to be 4th, and he is aimed at either the Bet365 h'cap at Sandown or the Irish National.
KALELLSHAN did not run over the winter but is well worth following during the summer months in Ireland.
Of others on the list:-
EBADIYAN - I have learned that this horse has died.
GOING WRONG - not run yet, but due a racecourse appearance soon.
WEIRD AL - broke blood vessel in Gold Cup, is out for season.
