Great 10/1 winner y'day - single selection

The 442nd edition of the Wayward Lad blog.

REBLIS did me proud yesterday, given a great ride by the 5lb claimer Joshua Moore. Sometimes, you need patience in this game as a punter and I've waited a couple of weeks since my last recommended wager. It was worth it, and thanks for the donations!

Just a brief blog today, as the racing looks ordinary for a Saturday.
At Chepstow, I like Educated Evans in the 3:45 (he's a half-bro to Tricky Trickster).

At Newcastle, the Eider Chase looks a poor renewal, but the Novice Chase over 3-mile looks well worth paying attention to with Cheltenham on the horizon.

At Kempton, do not under-estimate Planet Of Sound in the Racing Plus Chase. Has anyone read the Racing Plus yet? I've not seen a copy. My old mate Sarando looks gone with the game, not sure what's happened with him.

That's it for today. After yesterday's 10/1 winner with my only selection I reckon I've earned the day off so I'm going to Borough Market for breakfast.

  1. I am wondering if you have not had the papers delivered wayward? Racing looks ordinary? This Kempton meeting has historically had a huge predictive bearing on the Festival with Captain Chris and Zarkandar last year and the Adonis being the most significant predictor for the Triumph with five of the last twelve winners. The Racing Plus is slightly sub standard but still an interesting race and with Minsk racing in Ireland and a complex Eider its a really good set of cards I would say.

I have a strong fancy for Dildar in the Adonis. His debut was only workmanlike but the horse is highly regarded and he has been sharpened at home in recent weeks. Should win today and if so will be challenging for Triumph favouritism by this evening.

In the Eider all the money has been for Portrait King but my own fancy is for Posh Bird. Looking well handicapped still off 118 she will relish the marathon trip and is an attractive price around 10/1.

    take care

  2. Fearless: I understand what you say about the Adonis hurdle, but I'm a value seeker and from what I saw there was little or no value about today. Favourites were winning everywhere and, while fav's can hold value, the margins were tight. You were nearly right with Posh Bird, but the fav won that race as well. For a value seeker like me, I did best in keeping out of the battle and saving my funds for another day.
    All the best.
